Never Go Without Teeth
Immediate Dentures in Guelph
An immediate denture is made before your remaining teeth are extracted and placed right after the extractions. You leave the appointment with teeth, and the denture protects the gums while they heal.

How the Immediate Denture Process Works
- Consultation: we review which teeth will be removed and coordinate with the dentist or oral surgeon doing the extractions.
- Impressions and bite are taken while your teeth are still in place.
- We build the denture, setting the new teeth where the old ones will be removed.
- Extraction day: the denture goes in right after the teeth come out.
- Healing visits: we check and adjust the fit during the first weeks.
What to Expect While Your Gums Heal
After extractions, the gums and bone shrink, mostly in the first three to six months. The immediate denture will feel looser as this happens. We add a soft temporary liner when needed, and once healing is complete the denture is relined, or a new definitive denture is made.

Immediate Dentures and CDCP
CDCP covers immediate dentures every 8 years. They require preauthorization, so we start the request early, before your extraction date is booked. See CDCP dentures in Guelph.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the denturist remove the teeth?
No. Extractions are done by a dentist or oral surgeon. We make the immediate denture and coordinate the timing so it is ready on extraction day.
Will an immediate denture need a reline?
Yes, almost always. As the gums heal, the fit changes, so a reline or a new denture is planned after healing.
Can I eat with an immediate denture right away?
Stick to soft, cool foods for the first days and follow the extraction instructions from your dentist or oral surgeon.
